The Experience

Your team. Your way. Your games.

Girlsport Games is a girls-only multisport competition and festival. You choose your team, your coach, your colours and your role, then bring it all to two days of competition and an opening celebration built around you.

01

Build your team

It starts with your friends. Choose your teammates from your school, your club, your neighbourhood or all three. Your team doesn't have to represent one school or club. Then nominate your coach.

02

Make it yours

Name your team. Pick your colours. Design your uniform. The lead-up is part of the experience. Already have kit? That works too. Creativity should never be a cost barrier.

03

Every role is for girls

Not every girl wants to compete, and at Girlsport Games she doesn't have to. Coach your friends. Referee, umpire or officiate. Commentate, report, photograph or film. Design, analyse the stats, manage the team. Or invent a role nobody has thought of yet. Every girl at the Games is accredited, whatever her role.

04

Learn before you arrive

Once your team registers, you get access to virtual workshops in coaching, officiating, photography, media, statistics, preparation and team identity. Each one gives you a real task to do before the Games, so you arrive ready to use your skills.

05

Open the Games together

The evening before competition, every team comes together. Arrive in your colours, record your first interviews, meet athletes, try sport technology and discover the many roles women hold in sport. Where we can, we'll cheer on a women's team together.

06

Compete at the right level

Competition runs in U14, U16 and U19 age bands. Grading on the first morning places every team in a division that suits its level, so each of your six games across two days is a real contest, and friends stay together. Players in a team share the same age band; girls in other roles can come from any age group.

07

Explore how you move

Every team takes part in a movement experience using real sport technology, the same kind of tools used in high-performance sport. It's about discovering what your body can do, not comparing yourself to anyone else.

08

Look after yourself like an athlete

Athlete support sessions cover preparation, recovery and wellbeing. Leadership activities give you the chance to practise speaking up, coaching others and making decisions under pressure.
