Privacy policy

Your information, protected

Girlsport Games is presented by Girlsport Collective. This page explains, in plain English, how we look after the information you share with us when you register interest in Girlsport Games. It applies whether you are in Australia or the USA.

What we collect and why

When you register interest, we collect only what we need to plan the Games and stay in touch:

  • For a girl registering interest: her first name and her age group only. We never ask for, and never collect, a date of birth.
  • Contact details: the name and contact details of the parent, guardian, team, school, club, host region or partner completing the form.
  • Your answers: the sports, roles and preferences you tell us about, so we can plan events that fit.

We use this information to respond to your expression of interest, keep you updated about Girlsport Games, and plan events with host regions, schools, clubs and teams.

A parent or guardian completes the form

Girlsport Games is for girls aged 12 to 18. A parent or guardian completes the registration form for anyone under 18, and consents to the information being collected and used as described here.

Where it is stored and who can see it

Your information is stored securely in our hosted database, protected by access controls. Only Girlsport Collective staff can see it. It is never shared with sponsors or partners — partner support of the Games never includes access to girls' personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep registration information for 24 months from the date you submit it, and then delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. Email info@girlsportcollective.com and we will help you. If you are a parent or guardian, you can make a request on behalf of your child.

What we never do

  • We never sell personal information.
  • We never share girls' personal information with sponsors or partners.
  • We do not use advertising or tracking pixels anywhere on this website.

Australia

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This includes taking reasonable steps to keep information secure, and giving you the ability to access and correct it. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can contact us first, and you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

USA

For families in the USA: we do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian completes the form for anyone under 18, and the information collected is limited to what is described above. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information without a parent or guardian, email info@girlsportcollective.com and we will delete it.

Analytics

If we add website analytics in future, we will use a privacy-friendly, cookie-free option, and we will add a short notice here explaining what it measures.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page. If you have any questions, contact us at info@girlsportcollective.com.
